Introduction
Gram Vikas Society, a non-profit and voluntary organization was established in 2008-09. The organization is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act,1960 on 18-09-2008 with Reg. No. DRL/SOR/BGM/175/2008-09.
Gram Vikas has been working in the field of Integrated Rural Development by undertaking various development activities such as Promotion & execution of Community Health Awareness Programs, Socio-Economic Activities & Self Sustenance of Marginalized Communities by implementation of youth empowerment & welfare projects supported by Govt. of Karnataka and donor/sorganizations.
Gram Vikas is working with the people from rural areas for overall development especially economic development through organizing and conducting Women Development Programs, Self Help Groups & networking for their social, economic& political empowerment.
Gram Vikas achieved remarkable progress in all its Integrated Rural Development Projects through capacity building among the project beneficiaries to participate actively in their development activities and to contribute their share as per the requirement of the projects.
Background
Having registered office at Murgod, Saundatti Taluka of Belagavi Dist. and corporate office at 506, 3rdFloor of Oswal Tower, Jubilee Circle in Dharwad, the organization, along with 6 sister-concern-organizations, which are located in Dharwad, Sankeshwar, Gokarna, Bengaluru of Karnataka and Pune of Maharashtra, impacted lakhs of lives across the country with distinct activities.
GRAM VIKAS has mainly focused its activities on overall development of the marginalized communities, exploited and deprived women, small & marginal farmers andthe people who are migrating for their livelihood.
With its own Vision and Mission, GRAM VIKAS has gained rich experience in community organization, capacity building, and strengthening community for their active participation in planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation stages of their development activities under various development projects.
